3 Point Plan that Eliminates Unwanted Sales Calls

3 Point Plan to Eliminate Unwanted Sales Calls

Are you as tired as I am of getting a constant barrage of unwanted sales calls on my phone every day. Worse part they keep happening on my cell phone. So no matter where I am, I keep getting the unwanted calls.  Well there is a 3 point plan to eliminate unwanted sales calls. The best part, the 3 point plan does not cost anything to do. Even better the 3 point plan can result in fines to the companies that keep calling you.

I have started using the 3 point plan and its actually working.

3 Point Plan

Step 1. Register on the National Do Not Call Registry.

The Federal Trade Commission has a established a National Do Not Call Registry.  There is no charge for using this registry.  You register the phone number where you want the calls to stop happening. Then you have to wait 31 days. The companies have a 31 day grace period where they can still call your number without risk of penalty. So the first step to stopping the unwanted calls is Registering your phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry.

A word of caution Scammers have been making phone calls claiming to represent the National Do Not Call Registry. The calls claim to provide an opportunity to sign up for the Registry. These calls are not coming from the Registry or the Federal Trade Commission, and you should not respond to these calls.

Note: The do not call provisions do not cover calls from political organizations, charities, telephone surveyors, or companies with which a consumer has an existing business relationship. So yes you will still receive calls from politicians asking for money.

Step 2. What to Do after the 31st Day

Until 31 days are over. They still have a legal right to call you. After 31 days, take the time to register an official complaint. The Fines can get quite large. Up to $16,000 dollars per call. To the Federal Trade Commissions credit they have collected over a Billion Dollars in fines since the law was passed. So after the 31 day mark I started reporting companies. Click here to register your first complaint.

Step 3. Block the Call on Your Phone

After you have registered a complaint. On your cell phone you can easily block the call. So that if they try to call you back it wont get through.  There is a lot of great information on the National Do Not Call Registry.
