RMOUG’s Training Days is the premier (and largest) grass-roots Oracle user training event in the U.S., offering an incredible variety of technical and functional educational sessions over three days from world-renowned experts. Known throughout the country for its remarkable content, low-key networking opportunities, and incredible scenery, it provides a chance to learn about the cutting-edge products and services available to build for the future. For almost 30 years, Training Days has been hosted by the Rocky Mountain Oracle Users Group, an active, independent, non-profit organization striving to provide its members with instruction, guidance, and networking opportunities throughout the year, including a multi-page quarterly newsletter full of relevant content and tips.

Straight Talk On Oracle Licensing & Licensing Trends

Michael Corey, LicenseFortress & Don Sullivan, VMware
Tuesday 3
:45 pm – 4:45 pm

As our organization’s software infrastructure continues to stretch between on-premise, public clouds, and hybrid clouds, keeping it in compliance is more challenging than ever. Plus, getting straight answers from vendors on the proper way to license software isn’t always easy. (Some have even turned software license audits into a revenue generator!) This session will cover software license trends in this cloud-fueled world, the difference between Oracle policy and your contractual obligations, licensing Oracle on a virtualized environment, lessons learned, and steps every organization should take to stay in license compliance and not be the victim of their next software license audit. Many of the lessons learned will apply to all major software vendors.
